With over a thousand products featured on the CharlotteRusse.com, the Product Page template is the most used out of any other on the site. It was important to test and improve the experience. Through user testing, we learned our customer was struggling using the call-to-action and adding an item to their bag. The main problem was how the “add to bag” button was functioning and the user did not understand they had not yet selected a size. There was a popup that anchored from the bag that told them to “Select All Options”. This was not clear enough for a majority of the users to know what to do next.
Solution: Rename the button “Select a Size” and have it flip to “Add to Bag”, once the size had been selected.
For the mobile viewport, if the size had not yet be selected, the page would reposition to show the sizes. In cases where products only have one size (accessories are a good example), the button would always say “Add to Bag”.
